Crude Oil from Expeller and Solvent Extraction Plant is neutralised with Caustic Soda Lye and the resultant soap is removed by 6 Nos. of Sharples Centrifuses. The oil is washed with hot water and separated using 4 Nos. of Delaval Centrifuses. It is now dried under vacuum to remove moisture. This is called Washed Oil. The soap stock received from the neutralisation stage can be processed either into Hard Soap or Acid Oil depending upon the demand.
